3D printing solutions allow for quick presentation of jewelry in front of customers as well as streamlining the design and creation of casting molds.
Jewelers often encounter demand for intricate, unique jewelry designs that are difficult to make using traditional methods.
Jewelers benefit from the ability to present the design to the customer early in an palpable form.
Traditional methods of creating jewelry models, such as wax carving, are time-consuming and require manual precision.
Increasing demand for personalized jewelry (e.g., with initials, unique designs or custom sizes) requires flexibility in production.
In the production of jewelry, especially from precious metals, it is important to maximize the use of materials.
3D printers can reproduce even the finest details without dimensional deviations.
3D printing allows for quick and accurate customization of designs, enabling the creation of one-of-a-kind jewelry products.
3D printing allows for precise reproduction of even the most complex designs, enabling artistic freedom and custom orders.
3D printing makes it possible to create patterns and molds with minimal material waste, significantly reducing raw material costs.
With 3D printing, models can be created faster and more accurately, speeding up the entire design and production process.
3D printing is easy to implement in jewelry. No lengthy training on how to use the equipment is needed – Stratasys, Formlabs, UltiMaker and BLT products are plug&play.
Check out the Formlabs ebook on jewelry applications of 3D printing.
By reading the resource in the form of a short case study, you will become better acquainted with the concept of 3D printing in jewelry and consider how such solutions could be useful in your institution. We write about Formlabs technologies and explain a number of technical issues.

Production of vulcanized rubber molds based on 3D printed patterns.
We had 200 commemorative medals to make, where elements printed on the Formlabs Form 2 3D printer were used as templates.
Our studio handled the design preparation and delivery of the prototype medals. These, in turn, made it possible to produce molds of vulcanized rubber on which the commemorative medals were cast in bronze.

If you are thinking about using 3D printing and want to learn more and count the return on investment, talk to our 3D printing consultant.
As part of the conversation, the consultant:
In furtherance of our cooperation:
Do you have a specific problem or challenge that 3D printing could solve?
What size parts do you want to print? The most common prints are important, as they are the ones worth investing in 3D printers for.
What is more important to you aesthetics or the durability of the print? This will help us determine the right printing technology.
Is the print to meet any additional requirements? E.g. chemical resistance, heat resistance, biocompatibility certificate, pressure maintenance, low weight, handling of very heavy loads, abrasion resistance, good sliding properties, etc.
